The Copyright Agency (CAL) licenses Media Monitoring Organisations (MMOs) like Meltwater to copy and communicate their members’ works.
Through this partnership, Meltwater is able to support great quality journalism in Australia, whilst also providing our customers access to that content at a price that is feasible for them to pay.
As part of these licensing arrangements, Meltwaters acts as an agent for CAL, providing limited internal sharing rights to our customers for the use of newspaper and magazine content, via the ‘Downstream Licence’. The terms and conditions of the Downstream Licence applicable to Meltwater clients are available above (effective as of February 2022).
More information can be find on the CAL website.
